Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Cambridgeshire
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a plumbing background to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) across a variety of buildings. This role requires previous experience working as a site-based engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

* Work closely within a small, dedicated team to deliver all mechanical and HVAC Planned Maintenance (PM) tasks across multiple sites.

* Respond efficiently to reactive maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.

* Support statutory compliance tasks (e.g., emergency lighting checks, fire damper inspections) where trained.

* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with current health and safety legislation and best practice.

Essential

Skills & Experience:

* Proven experience as a site-based engineer on a multi-building site.

* Strong plumbing background with an NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification.

* Solid experience in maintaining HVAC systems.

* Experience delivering compliance maintenance in commercial or public buildings.

* Good knowledge of Legionella control, ACOP L8, and water hygiene best practices.

* Ability to produce accurate compliance documentation.

* Excellent time management and attention to detail.

* Comfortable using CAFM systems or handheld devices for task management.

* A valid UK driving licence is required.

Desirable

Qualifications:

* WRAS Approved.

* Gas Safe Registered.

* Legionella Awareness Training (City & Guilds or equivalent).

* Experience with TMV maintenance, dead-leg identification and water sampling.

* CSCS or other relevant site safety card.
