IC Layout Engineer

Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an IC Layout Engineer to join a growing silicon design company based in Cambridge.

The role is part of a brand‑new IC design team and will offer the chance for an IC Layout Engineer to really make an impact. He/she will translate schematic designs into layout solutions to achieve the specification and project schedule, and also have the chance to delve into IC design work. Being a small team, my client offers a fast‑paced, dynamic working environment in which you will be required to wear different hats.

The right candidate will be degree‑qualified, with several years’ prior experience working in IC Layout. Excellent communication skills are needed, together with the drive and ambition to contribute to a new up and coming start‑up.

Translate schematic designs into layout solutions to meet specifications and project schedules. Work on block‑level designs from scratch, including schematic capture and simulation.

• Up to 8–10 years of IC Layout experience (less experienced candidates will also be considered).
• Strong skills in DRC and LVS.
• Proficiency with Cadence IC design suite of tools.
• Analog / Mixed‑Signal IC design skills/knowledge.
• Parasitic extraction and evaluation.
• Experience in layout of block level designs from scratch, working on schematic capture and simulation of the designs.
• Degree‑qualified in a relevant field.
