Responsibilities and duties of the Electrical Generator Engineer role

Reporting to the Service Coordinator you will:

• Lead installation and commissioning of diesel and gas generators from delivery through to operational handover.
• Oversee major and minor servicing to ensure generator reliability, efficiency, and compliance with maintenance schedules.
• Conduct and analyse generator load bank testing to verify operational performance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex faults across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Complete and review service documentation and ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
• Carry out site surveys and inspections of generator systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Time-served or apprentice-trained electrical skillset with experience working on industrial scale equipment.
• 7+ years' experience in generator installation, maintenance, and fault finding.
• Strong understanding of diesel and gas generator systems, control panels, and switch gear would be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
