Position: Assistant Head - SENCo (Fordham )

Job Title:

Assistant Head – SENCo

Salary: £39,562 – £54,395 (depending on experience)

Working Hours:

Full Time, Term Time Only (39 weeks) + 3 weeks additional SENCo responsibilities in collaboration with the Head of School

Location:

Fordham, Ely

About the Role

The SENCo role is critical to ensuring the strategic development of the school and to establishing high quality provision for students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with school leadership to develop and implement the SEN policy, support teachers, and promote inclusion across the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the school’s SEN strategy and policy.
  • Provide specialist support and guidance to teachers and staff to improve practice and outcomes for students with SEN.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of School and leadership team to drive continuous improvement and evaluation of SEN provision.
  • Ensure statutory compliance and promote safeguarding and welfare of all children and young people within the school.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualified teacher with a qualified SENCo qualification.
  • Experience as a SENCo and in leadership.
  • Willing to submit an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
  • Complete Child Protection Training and promote safeguarding of all children.
