Full-time MOBILE FLEET MECHANIC/Light PM & Repair Work (On Site Terminal & Roadside) to manage repairs & PM maintenance for utmost driver safety, comfort & DOT Compliance for Fleet of 35-40 privately owned commercial fleet vehicles. Candidate will service ONLY Slicker Trucking Fleet Vehicles. No outside service writing, sales, public or consumer service.

• Ensures fleet meets DOT operating standards
• Report to local shop & terminals to perform routine & scheduled maintenance
• Diagnoses mechanical problems and performs maintenance service on, filters, brakes, tires and other automotive parts as needed.
• Performs routine preventive maintenance (Lights, Wiring, Brakes, Oil Changes, Tires, PMs)
• Safely operates & Maintains Assigned Mobile Maintenance Vehicle
• Repairs or replaces replacement / defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
• Knowledge of & Ability to use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
• Shuttles trucks to shops for maintenance as needed
• Maintains organization and cleanliness of the van, shop and immediate work area.
• Become familiar with truck fleet at assigned terminal
• Works with Senior Mechanics & Managers to Coordinate routine maintenance on Truck Fleet at assigned Terminal
• Tracks and logs routine maintenance performed on Truck Fleet
• Reports & Schedules maintenance outside of routine or onsite maintenance
• Works with shop staff to order parts & coordinate completion of routine & scheduled work
• Responds to roadside calls per agreed upon schedule & availability

• Clean MVR / Driver’s License & Background Check
• High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
• General knowledge of automotive and repair processes preferred
• Freightliner, Nissan, Ram, Chevy/GMC knowledge a plus
• Access to basic maintenance tools
