Job Overview
Role: Retail Parts Pro – a full‑time, professional level sales position that supports advanced functions of the DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and parts knowledge. It involves advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, sourcing from special order, FDO, and second sources, and in‑depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal/store sales goals and service objectives.
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
- Key holder responsibilities: task assignment and completion, safety, open/close duties.
- Assist in store inventory processes: truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock.
- Maintain store cleanliness: floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot.
- Provide DIY services: battery installation, testing, wiper installs.
- Friendly communication.
- Ability to locate and stock parts.
- Safety knowledge and skills.
- Operate inventory systems and store equipment.
- Parts and automotive system knowledge skills.
- Operate POS and parts lookup systems.
- Expert in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
- ASE P2 certified or ASE‑ready equivalent.
- Advanced solution, project, and product quality recommendation ability.
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing.
- Advanced selling skills for DIY.
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust).
- Speak and write English;
Spanish a plus. - Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Understand and execute written, oral, or diagram instructions.
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
- Use basic math accurately (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work assorted days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
3–5 years of prior automotive parts experience. Proven sales ability with a track record of fulfilling customer transactions.
Qualifications- Valid driver's license.
- ASE Certification preferred (but not required).
13.40 USD PER HOUR – 14.74 USD PER HOUR
