Description

The primary function of this position is to perform analytical and microbiological testing and data analysis of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods (fabric softeners and dish liquids/cleaners).

Responsibilities
  • Perform physical and chemical testing of raw materials, in-process, and finished product samples in accordance with the Quality Plan and SOPs. Approve materials and finished products based on test results.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment as required.
  • Swab/prepare control point monitoring samples in the manufacturing plant and outgoing tankers.
  • Routinely prepare and review test data, including tracking and trending of data, and process capability evaluation.
  • Provide product release/hold notification to Colgate distribution system and SAP transactions.
  • Provide support to the facility to resolve nonconformance issues and identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Support special Quality and continuous improvement projects for the facility.
  • Coordinate sample collection and shipment for stability testing at Colgate Research and Technology Center.
  • Assist in compilation of Antibacterial Batch Release Records, reviewing for documentation accuracy, and providing feedback to teams where required. Perform initial review of release bundle where needed.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date and concise laboratory notebooks and records.
  • Operate the PSM covered processes in accordance with site policy and procedures.
  • Report deficiencies using the Notification process in SAP EAM, or as necessary using verbal or written communication with Area Leaders or Managers.
  • Assist engineering during PHA's and review operating procedures annually or as needed.
  • Complete a PSM 100 workshop within one calendar year from hire date.
Basic

Minimum Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or a science discipline.
  • 2+ years of practical Analytical Laboratory experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of basic analytical testing and laboratory procedures.
  • Ability to smell odors and see colors in order to perform the smell, color & appearance testing.
  • Willingness and desire to learn new laboratory practices.
  • Good knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software, like Microsoft or Google Suite.
  • Attention to detail, time management, organization, and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Proven documentation skills and management of batch records/production paperwork.
Physical Requirements
  • This position will start during the day shift, but after onboarding will be a 12 hour, 4 on/4 off, PM shift. Must be able to work any shift, weekends and mandatory overtime as needed.
  • Must be able to stand for 8‑12 hours per shift.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, reach for extended periods of time during shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to frequently move boxes, totes, bags ranging in weight up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $51,200.00 – $77,500.00 USD.

Minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays. Paid sick leave will be adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws.
