CAD Drafter II; OH, Cambridge

Summary

Completes drafting assignments including drawings, dimensioning, material take-off, reports and intermediate layouts.

Sr. Project Manager, Project Manager, Discipline Engineer, Discipline Designer.

A two-year technical associate’s degree in a Mechanical, Civil, Electrical or Architectural discipline, featuring CAD instruction and computer skills. A minimum of two (2) years of relevant technical experience.

• Complete drawings in accordance with Company and Customer Standards including all line work, dimensioning, cross references and CAD requirements.
• Check drawings of other Team Members and can check for coordination with other disciplines.
• Mentor less-experienced Drafters.
• Coordinate the work with other discipline and project team members.
• Prepare material take-offs, lists and schedules as assigned to complete project documentation.
• Travel to project meetings or job sites to aid in project completion.

Is proficient in all skills and abilities of a Drafter I. Additionally, proficient in the following:

• Able to create and update Drawing Lists and Transmittals.
• Completes assigned modeling and drawing work with less supervision than a Drafter I.
• Minimal direction needed on common tasks.
• Consistently checks work before returning it to Supervisor. The work is complete and accurate. Little rework is needed.
• Can work efficiently to meet project schedules and estimated hours.
• Mentors Interns and new hires. This includes checking their work and explaining comments.
• Able to communicate with Vendors and Customers as needed on drawing-related issues.

The ability to work overtime, 10 to 20 hours per week when workload is necessary, is required. Some domestic travel may be required.
