Job Details- Position: Custodian – Part-Time

- Work Schedule: Vartis; on‑call, as needed; regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
- Work Setting: On‑site; requires in‑person attendance

- Expected 2026 Hiring Range: $21.40 – $22.82 per hour ($44,512.00 – $47,465.60 annually), depending on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.
- Full Range: $21.40 – $27.66 per hour ($44,512.00 – $57,532.80 annually), with the potential for additional longevity‑based pay.

Performs work cleaning and maintaining county buildings and grounds including all public areas and staff office areas, ensuring sanitation and safety of facilities and related work as apparent or assigned.
Work is performed under the supervision of the Facilities Manager and/or guidance of the Building Maintenance Supervisor.
Work schedule will be as needed/on‑call with a maximum of 520 hours per year. Work schedule and hours will be coordinated by Facilities Manager and/or Building Maintenance Supervisor.
Essential Functions- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms; replace supplies; washes windows and walls; dust, polishes, and moves furniture for cleaning.
- Vacuums and cleans floors; sweeps, mops, strips, and polishes floors; shampoos carpets.
- Collects and removes rubbish, wastepaper, and recycle materials.
- Locks and unlocks doors as needed to maintain security.
- Notifies immediate supervisor of required building repairs and unsafe conditions.
- Maintains inventory stock of cleaning supplies.
- Opens and sets up meeting rooms.
- Removes snow and ice to maintain safety.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED and considerable experience in custodial work or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

- Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Ability to perform operations involved in custodial duties.
- Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to maintain a regular and timely work attendance.
Physical Requirements And Activity: This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions, frequently requires lifting and occasionally requires sitting, speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing and tasting or smelling.
