About the Role

We are seeking a Material Handler with strong attention to detail, and high standards of customer service. They will play an integral role ensuring our clients have the necessary materials to perform their duties. They will be part of a team that handles materials coming in and out of a client site. This person represents the front line for Tobin Scientific, and will become a trusted counterpart among one of the world's leading scientific teams.

This is a 100% on‑site position in Cambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive daily shipments and follow the procedure for delivery to end user.
  • Identify risks in inventory levels, and needs for items with high lead‑times.
  • Follow safety procedures to handle HAZMAT items.
  • Coordinate with offsite satellite warehouse team to ensure proper stock levels.
  • Organize assigned areas, with the ability to initiate improvements with the end user in mind.
  • Process deviations (i.e., damages, miscounts, etc.) according to provided SOP.
  • Serve as a professional and reliable representative of the Tobin Scientific organization.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum education:

    High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years in customer‑service with strong track record of client satisfaction
  • Highly professional with positive, solutions‑oriented attitude
  • HAZMAT handling experience in biotech/pharma setting a plus
  • Excellent communicator, including providing and receiving constructive feedback.
  • Adaptable and takes proactive measures to understand new skills or concepts.
  • Can operate independently with minimal oversight, and seek support when necessary.
  • Follow provided SOP's and work procedures.
  • Perform additional shipping and stocking tasks, as necessary.
  • Perform job requirements safely with the required PPE.
  • Balance competing priorities, and manage time to complete assigned tasks within shift.
  • Intermediate computer skills (exhibits ability to operate in inventory systems).
  • Able to walk up to 5+ hours daily and lift 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

This position is primarily based in a warehouse and may require standing, walking, bending, and light lifting throughout the shift. The role involves working in temperature‑controlled or refrigerated environments as needed.
