We are looking for a Software QA Engineer to help ensure our Health experience is rock-solid and customer-focused.

We're looking for critical thinkers who would like to play a key role qualifying critical software and the frameworks that support it during all stages of software development. We practice nimble, fast‑paced development that relies heavily on a tight relationship between Engineering, Project Management, and QA.

As a Quality Assurance Engineer you’ll have the opportunity to have a direct hand in crafting the next advancements in Apple’s health software ecosystem. We work on the Health app — a platform for Health and Fitness efforts across Apple — as well as the Research App and related features and experiences that broaden the definition of what our platform can do.

You will work with experienced engineers, designers, and medical experts to qualify and refine features that delight users as well as form a solid technical foundation for future development. In this position, you will need to be self‑directed, creative, and comfortable with change and ambiguity. Strong technical and interpersonal skills are all essential.

• Functional testing of Health Software features on Apple’s OS platforms, often across concurrent release vectors
• Execution of automated test scripts and analysis of their results alongside focused, creative manual testing
• Design and implementation of test plans and test cases
• Risk analysis, cross‑functional testing coordination, and integration testing across the system
• Maintain a qualitative, high level understanding of your areas of responsibility
• Investigation and debugging on Unix based systems to triage difficult problems and work towards resolutions

• Experience working in Software Quality Assurance on iOS or similar
• Independent thinker with the ability to proactively triage, investigate, and debug difficult technical and UX problems autonomously as well as collaboratively
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to facilitate close interaction with development teams, management, and other organizations within Apple
• Passion for quality assurance in software, including developing, extending and maintaining test plans, methodologies, as well as automation libraries
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience

• Previous work with regulated medical devices is a plus

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $157,400 and $262,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
