Leveraging deep expertise in the space, Aera has a leading LNP platform that enables today’s applications, while investing in and developing a potentially disruptive antibody oligonucleotide conjugate platform to enable tomorrow’s applications.

Aera is looking for an MBA or PhD candidate who is passionate about connecting the dots between science and business to join our Corporate Development team as an intern during Summer 2026. You will report to the Director, Corporate Development with significant exposure to CBO/CFO and cross‑functional scientific team. You will work in a hybrid setting.

• Embed in the business development team to support external partnering efforts through corporate material preparation and BD process management
• Lead a start‑to‑end independent project of strategic interest to the company. Possibilities include competitive intelligence landscaping, commercial opportunity assessment, KOL‑based market research, therapeutic target deep dives
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (e.g., Research, Clinical, Legal, Finance) to support elements of strategic analysis
• Present results to senior leadership at completion of internship

• Currently enrolled or completed an MBA degree (rising 2nd year or greater) or PhD program (2nd year or greater)
• Experience in the natural sciences, either through degree program, experience, or selection of research (likely relevant programs include chemistry, biology, chemical/biological engineering, health science technology)
• Understanding of and demonstrated interest in biotech industry
• Work onsite in Cambridge at least 3 days per week

The approximate hourly pay range for this role is $40-50/hour.

Our ranges are determined by job scope, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position as posted. Within the range, individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including job‑related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and business need. In addition to the base salary, eligible employees will have an opportunity to participate in an annual cash bonus, equity incentives, and a robust benefits offering that includes health insurance, 401(k) retirement plan with company match, paid sick and vacation time, life and disability insurance, and commuting expense reimbursement.
