Hub Spot welcomes individuals to join our Sales team as a Business Development Representative (BDR). As part of our commitment to building a hybrid company, BDRs can be flexible with their work location with the choice to either be based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, or remotely in the US.

At Hub Spot, our BDRs are not only the first point of contact for our prospects—they’re also developing the skills and mindset to become our next generation of Account Executives. This is not a placeholder job — it’s the first chapter of a high-growth sales career designed for those who want to build skills, embrace feedback, move fast, and grow even faster.

The Role: As an Outbound BDR, you’ll play a key role in Hub Spot’s growth engine. You’ll be the first touchpoint for many of our future customers, sparking conversations through strategic outreach, uncovering pain points, and qualifying leads. You’ll partner closely with Account Executives to deliver high-quality meetings that drive pipeline, impact, and revenue.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own and execute outbound prospecting through high-volume outreach (60–100+ activities/day) via phone, email, and Linked In.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to target strategic accounts and refine outreach strategy.
  • Qualify leads based on fit, need, and urgency — and book quality discovery meetings.
  • Hit (and exceed) KPIs for activity, meetings delivered, and pipeline impact.
  • Grow fast. Learn fast. Get coached. Apply it. Repeat.

  • Are resilient, coachable, and crave feedback to improve.
  • Are curious and ask why, not just how. Set high standards for themselves and hit them.
  • Are technologically fluent, adapting to new technologies and leveraging AI in day-to-day work.
  • Communicate clearly, write thoughtfully, and can confidently conduct a cold call.
  • Are energized by a fast-paced environment and a bit of friendly competition.
  • Have past sales success or demonstrated excellence in goal-driven roles (e.g., fundraising, athletics, service industry).

Pay & Benefits

The cash compensation includes base salary, on-target commission for eligible roles, and annual bonus targets. Some roles may be eligible to participate in Hub Spot’s equity plan (RSUs) and/or overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.

Annual Cash Compensation Range: $72,580 — $83,520 USD
