• Managing the full‑cycle process through qualification, needs analysis, product demonstration, proof of concept (PoC), negotiation and close.
• Being accountable for your sales target and overachieving on that target.
• Building customer relationships and qualifying opportunities to ensure an accurate sales forecast.
• Working strategically with a Sales Engineer and ensuring their time drives opportunities to closure.

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity, API Security, API Gateway, and Cloud Service Providers.
• Demonstrated ability to close new customer acquisition.
• Experience in channel‑first sales motions.
• Knowledge of one or more of: API Security, Application Security, Sec Ops, Cloud Security, Dev Sec Ops , or related fields.
• History of consistently exceeding individual sales goals and targets.
• Experience with technology sales into enterprise and/or commercial accounts, with an understanding of navigating complex organizations.

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US‑based candidates only, the On‑Target Earnings (OTE, base salary + commissions) ranges from $189,800 – $394,200 per year; OTE is determined by experience, skills, certifications, and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The package may include equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
