Job Description Summary

The Billing and Collections Analyst 3 is a highly motivated, detailed‑oriented, results‑driven professional who supports Draper’s billing functions. The analyst plays a key role in supporting invoicing, collections, and maintaining accurate records, while also assisting junior team members. The Analyst should be comfortable working with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines and provide value‑added service to internal and external partners. This role is highly visible and requires knowledge of Government Contracts with the ability to prioritize and plan.

Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Independently apply principles of accounting to prepare Government and Commercial Bills (Cost Types, Time and Material, Firm Fixed Price, and Performance Based Payments).
  • Timely produce and deliver customer billings for assigned contracts.
  • Responsible for collection of aged receivables.
  • Continually monitor and update customer interactions in support of collections.
  • Independently investigate and resolve any reconciliation issues.
  • Work under tight time constraints due to departmental deadlines.
  • Collaboratively work in a team‑oriented environment.
  • Work with other departments (Business Analysts, Contracts Group, and Programs).
  • Effectively communicate to the billing manager regarding ongoing issues and updates.
  • Timely and accurately set up billing plans.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of electronic billing procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in workflow.
  • Ability to analyze data to make informed decisions.
  • Thrive in a results‑driven team culture.
  • Familiarity with Government regulations.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

Experience

7‑10 years of accounting or billing experience required; ERP experience preferred (People Soft, Oracle, IPP, WAWF, Data Warehouse).

Compensation

US base salary range: $82,300.00 – $.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement’s approved rates by location and role.
