The primary responsibilities of the Associate Principal Scientist – Spatial multi-omics are to:

• Independently design, optimize, and perform high-sensitivity and high-spatial resolution LC-MS experiments for proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics (multi-omics).
• Prepare and process complex biological samples, e.g., biofluids for bulk and tissue sections, with laser microdissection for spatial multi-omics LC-MS analysis.
• Work closely with biologists and other scientists to integrate LC-MS multi-omics data with other omics and clinical data sets for understanding of biological systems.
• Collaborate with data science experts to develop and implement data post-processing pipelines.
• Translate complex data into meaningful biological insights, contributing to drug target discovery, biomarker translation, disease understanding, and elucidation of drug modes of action.
• Work with internal and external partners to generate high-quality metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics datasets that will enable translation from pre‑clinical experiments to clinical applications.
• Summarize and present results to project team members and collaborators.

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

• PhD in relevant fields such as chemistry, biochemistry, or biology.
• Proven experience incompletingcomplex scientific projects,and conducting work independently as well as withinateam, collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Advanced skills and deep, hands‑on experience in high‑resolution LC-MS and MS analysis covering metabolomics, lipidomics, and proteomics, with expertise in sample preparation for complex matrices including spatial analysis.
• You are driven by curiosity, advanced science, and innovation, deploying a strong analytical, investigative, and solution‑oriented mindset whilebeingcapable of completing detailed documentation of experiments and results to enable data‑driven decisions.

• PhD in relevant fields such as chemistry, biochemistry, or biology, with 3+ years of post‑graduate experience in multi‑omics data generation and processing, with a track record of publications and presentations at scientific meetings, enabled by excellent written and oral communication skills.
