** Cambridge, MAWe are looking for a highly qualified and motivated post-doctoral candidate to join the Sanofi Neurology Research Therapeutic Area, focused on discovering targets and validating and developing therapies for neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease. This position is laboratory-based and will involve executing experiments, including genetic screens, to identify and test new targets and therapeutics
* in vitro
* and
* ex vivo*. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in neurodegeneration with strong expertise in Alzheimer’s Disease pathogenesis and extensive experience in models of brain disease, with the ability to perform cell culture-based experiments using gene silencing techniques (e.g. CRISPR) on primary brain cells and/or iPSCs. The ideal candidate will also have experience running various bioanalysis assays including ELISA or MSD-based systems.
* Must have a PhD in neuroscience, neurodegeneration, neuroimmunology,  or related discipline with a track record of peer-reviewed publications.
* Expertise in Alzheimer’s disease biology, genetic screens, and isolation and cell culturing of primary brain cells and iPSC-derived cells (e.g. microglia, neurons).
* Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the postdoc fellowship
* ** Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship
** Extensive experience with
* in vitro
* models and tools (including but not limited to gene silencing)
* Experience analyzing big data sets using programming and/or AI-based approaches.
* Experience with
* in vivo
* animal models of neurodegeneration, dosing (ip, iv, po), and tissue collection is a plus.
* Familiarity with RNA sequencing approaches and analysis is a plus.
* Ability to effectively develop and discuss experimental goals and research progress with scientists and stakeholders of varied backgrounds.
* Highly organized, collaborative, and effective working on teams.
* Ability to work collaboratively to identify and execute key steps necessary to advance projects.
* Excellent analytical and communication skills.
