Overview
We are seeking a motivated Associate Scientist to join the Process Sciences group, supporting the development and execution of oligonucleotide manufacturing processes for siRNA therapeutics. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career scientist looking to gain hands-on experience in processing, manufacturing, and process development of oligonucleoptide therapeutics within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The Associate Scientist I will work closely with senior scientists and engineers to execute laboratory operations, collect and document data, and support process optimization and technology transfer activities.
This position is onsite and primarily located in Cambridge, MA.
Key Responsibilities
Support processing activities for oligonucleotide manufacturing under guidance from senior staff
Execute laboratory-scale and pilot-scale processes to support research and in-house material needs
Perform routine in-process analytical tests (e.g., pH, conductivity, UV, basic chromatography)
Assist in the preparation, execution, and documentation of non-GMP manufacturing runs
Follow established SOPs and batch records in a cGLP laboratory environment
Support drafting and revision of SOPs, batch records, and technical documentation
Operate laboratory and analytical equipment after appropriate training
Accurately document experimental work following good documentation practices (GDP)
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Process Development, Analytical Sciences, and Manufacturing
Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory workspace
Support inventory management team.
Qualifications
BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
0 2 years of laboratory experience (academic, co-op, internship, or industrial experience acceptable).
Basic familiarity with analytical techniques such as pH, conductivity, HPLC, or LC-MS is preferred.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality laboratory documentation
Willingness to learn regulated laboratory practices and manufacturing workflows
Ability to work collaboratively, follow instructions, and manage time effectively
