Job DescriptionGMet is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented research associate to join the laboratory team on a part‑time basis
. The applicant should have experience working in a laboratory environment that includes liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC‑MS) and related methodologies. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who wishes to work in a cutting‑edge metabolomics and multi‑omics environment. This position requires long‑term eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Contribute to day‑to‑day operations of GMet’s standardized analytical laboratory environment.
- Independently execute SOPs for preparing biological samples for LC‑MS analysis.
- Receive and validate customer samples.
- Prepare HPLC mobile phases and buffers.
- Tuning and equilibrating LC‑MS systems.
- Preparing instrument worklists and mass spectrometer data management.
- Maintain laboratory inventory of samples, chemicals, and materials.
- Support method development including use of high‑throughput platforms such as 96‑well plates, multi‑channel pipettes, semi‑automated liquid handling robots.
- Maintain a detailed electronic laboratory notebook.
- Enter data and perform various administrative functions that support laboratory operations.
- 1‑2 years’ hands‑on experience with small‑molecule LC‑MS.
- Experience with reagent and buffer preparation.
- Familiar with good pipetting technique, using both single‑and multi‑channel and serological pipettes.
- Experience working safely in a BSL‑2 laboratory environment.
- Must be able to work in‑person.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or another related field.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Detail‑oriented.
- $31‑36 per hour commensurate with experience
