Data Scientist, AI Engineer
I’m partnered with a well-funded, stealth biotech startup in Boston that’s building next-generation AI foundation models for human stem cells. Backed by leading investors and founded by world-class AI researchers and medical scientists, this team is on a mission to transform how cell therapies are discovered, optimized, and scaled.
They’re now looking for a Principal Computational Biologist to play a key role in advancing large-scale single-cell and spatial transcriptomics research that directly feeds into therapeutic development.
The OpportunityYou’ll sit at the intersection of computational biology, AI, and developmental biology — designing pipelines, building predictive models, and driving research that translates high-dimensional biological data into real-world cell replacement technologies.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role in a fast-moving environment where your work will directly shape the scientific and computational roadmap.
What You’ll Be Doing- Developing and optimizing pipelines for large-scale single-cell and spatial omics data
- Driving novel research directions at the interface of AI and stem cell biology
- Building and applying predictive models to high-dimensional transcriptomic datasets
- Collaborating closely with ML researchers, software engineers, and biologists
- Mentoring team members and contributing to technical strategy
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field
- 3+ years’ experience working with large-scale genomic/transcriptomic datasets (e.g. scRNA-seq, spatial omics)
- Strong Python and statistical modeling skills
- Experience applying machine learning to biological data
- Comfortable operating autonomously in a startup environment
- Mission-driven company with the potential to impact millions of lives
- Deeply technical environment with exceptional scientific leadership
- Significant ownership and influence at an early stage
- Competitive compensation and benefits
If you’re excited about using AI to unlock the next generation of regenerative medicine, I’d be happy to share more details confidentially.
