Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist with strong experience in oncology-focused molecular and cellular biology research. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in gene editing, cell culture systems, and functional assays, with the ability to independently design, execute, and troubleshoot experiments in a fast-paced research environment.
This is a fully onsite role located at Cambridge Crossing in Somerville, MA.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biological Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience conducting oncology research in an academic or industry setting.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple experiments simultaneously.
- Maintenance and manipulation of 2D cell lines
- CRISPR/Cas9 or Cas
12 - shRNA
- Lentiviral-based gene transfer
- Cell viability and cytotoxicity assays using:
- Incu Cyte
- Clonogenic assays
- RT-qPCR
- Western blot
- Maintenance and manipulation of 2D and 3D cell cultures
, including spheroids and organoids - Lentiviral and nucleofection-based gene transfer and genome editing
- Target gene perturbation using CRISPR/Cas9, Cas
12, shRNA, and siRNA - Cell viability and cytotoxicity assays using:
