Overview
We are seeking an associate scientist-II to join our protein sciences team to contribute to our protein production and conjugation efforts. The candidate must be independent, goal oriented, technically competent, and able to efficiently work across multiple projects. We are searching for enthusiastic, innovative, and highly motivated individuals, with scientific background in protein expression, purification, protein conjugation and analytical techniques, who are comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
The successful candidate will be part of cross-functional teams including biologists, chemists, and pharmacologists and will contribute to advancing research programs across multiple therapeutic modalities.
This lab-based position is onsite and will be located at 675 W. Kendall St. Cambridge, MA 02142.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the protein sciences team to deliver and validate proteins and protein conjugates at various production scales.
- Design, plan, and perform protein conjugation experiments to support in vitro and in vivo evaluations, contributing to project-related scientific activities with some guidance from team members.
- Utilize UV-Vis spectroscopy and HPLC to analyze, purify, quantify, characterize, and formulate protein conjugates.
- Contribute to the maintenance of laboratory infrastructure and equipment.
- Support group organization, productivity, and expertise through collaboration and idea exchange.
- Meet quality, quantity, and timeline expectations for all assigned projects.
- Support discovery efforts in protein sciences.
- Maintain accurate and complete electronic notebook records.
- Communicate experimental plans and data to multiple cross‑functional scientific teams.
- BS/MS degree in biology, biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or a related field, with 0‑1 years of relevant laboratory experience in a biopharma or academic setting.
- Experience with modern bioconjugation chemistry and analytical techniques.
- Experience with instrumentation such as Agilent and AKTA HPLC systems, TFF, and UV‑Vis spectrometry.
- Experience with protein and protein conjugate analysis (e.g., affinity chromatography, SEC, RP‑HPLC, HIC, IEX, SDS‑PAGE, UV‑Vis spectroscopy) and label‑free binding techniques (SPR and/or BLI) preferred.
- Experience developing new chromatographic methods is a plus.
- Knowledge of protein purification using AKTA systems preferred.
- Passion for driving projects from the bench, independently contributing to research goals, and solving challenging problems.
- Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and comfortable working on highly technical projects in a multidisciplinary team setting.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.

U.S. Pay Range$67,600.00 - $
The pay range reflects the full‑time base salary range we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Base pay will be determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education. This role is eligible for an annual short‑term incentive award (e.g., bonus or sales incentive) and an annual long‑term incentive award (e.g., equity).
