Postdoctoral Associate – Proteomics Group
Join the Proteomics Group (Carr/Udeshi Lab) at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard to develop and apply state‑of‑the‑art mass spectrometry‑based proteomics technology to address compelling questions in biology, chemistry, and clinical medicine.
ResponsibilitiesThe specific research areas of immediate interest that this scientist could drive include:
- Proteogenomic studies of a wide range of cancers
- Detailed studies of cellular signaling networks related to protein phosphorylation, ubiquitylation or acetylation
- Chemical proteomics technologies such as thermal profiling and cell surface proteomics to unveil intracellular and cell‑surface protein drug targets
- Developing biological understanding of response and resistance to therapy
Successful candidates will work in one or more of these areas together with an interdisciplinary team of clinicians, biologists, computational and proteomics scientists to deeply characterize and understand the prote of tumor‑derived material, cells and biofluids.
Qualifications- Ph.D. or MD, Ph.D. in areas such as analytical chemistry, molecular biology, biology, biochemistry, computational biology or preferably interdisciplinary sciences merging laboratory and bioinformatic skills with 0‑2 years of experience in an academic setting.
- Excellent scientific productivity, evidenced by high‑quality research publications in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Track record of conducting independent and creative research.
- Analytical aptitude for devising innovative scientific or technical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- State‑of‑the‑art mass spectrometry‑based proteomics.
- Expertise in statistical and/or computational analysis of large‑scale proteomic or genomic data.
- Analysis of cell signaling pathways/networks.
- Cell biology/biochemical methods to understand protein function.
- Domain expertise in a disease area such as cancer, metabolic or infectious disease.
