Associate Scientist – Molecular Biology, Discovery Biologics Disruptive Technologies

The Discovery Biologics Department is seeking a talented Associate Scientist to join the Disruptive Technologies Group, which advances and utilizes cutting‑edge technologies to build a robust portfolio of innovative biotherapeutics. This scientist will support the screening and characterization activities of the Disruptive Technologies team with a focus on molecular biology. The role is based at our Cambridge, MA facility.

Pay

$34/hr on W2

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemical or biomedical engineering, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of academic or industrial research experience.
Core Skills
  • Experience with PCR, molecular cloning, cell‑free protein synthesis.
  • Experience with protein expression and purification.
  • Experience with analytical techniques such as SDS‑PAGE and capillary electrophoresis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Python and liquid handling automation.
  • Experience with DNA library construction and NGS.
  • Experience with binding protein characterization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and documentation of DNA, RNA, protein, and other biochemical reagents.
  • Analysis of samples by gels, capillary electrophoresis, and plate assays.
  • NGS library preparation and sequencing.
  • Maintenance of instruments and lab stocks.
  • Present work internally through ELN and presentations.
  • Contribute to the team culture of collaboration, accountability, and inclusion.
