Maternity Nurse Educator
Location: IVS review required
Schedule: Day Shift — Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Hours: 36 hrs/week (operationalized as 5x8s one week, 4x8s the next)
The Maternity Nurse Educator functions as a change agent, mentor, leader, facilitator of learning, advocate for the nurse educator specialty, and partner in role transitions. This role integrates adult learning theory, experience, and evidence-based practice to guide and elevate clinical nursing practice.
Qualifications / Experience- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Current MA RN license
- MSN required
- ANCC certification in Nursing Professional Development strongly preferred
- Current AHA BLS
- NRP and ACLS required
- NRP Fetal Monitoring Instructor preferred
- Must meet Nursing Professional Development (NPD) competency standards (ANPD)
- Continuing Care Nursery (CCN) experience required
- Advanced maternal-child nursing skills, including:
- Fetal monitoring
- Cardiac arrhythmia identification
- IV medication titration
- Managing epidurals and pain relief modalities
- Acute care of laboring patients
- OR experience (circulator & scrub for C-sections)
- Advanced assessment skills
