Job Summary

Packaging Maintenance Supervisor needed for immediate direct hire opportunity just north of the Boston, MA area. The right person will be a degreed Engineer with a working knowledge of food processing packaging machinery, controls, and regulatory requirements. The primary responsibilities of this role are to manage packaging maintenance as a whole, from a budget, to collaborating with internal departments ensuring optimization for packaging equipment and materials;

also to lead department personnel, promoting a motivated workforce who are properly trained in packaging processes in a safe, sanitary and efficient working environment.

Other responsibilities include supporting preventive maintenance programs for packaging equipment, supporting auditing and enforcement of SQF and quality policies. Looking for someone with 8+ years experience with food processing packaging systems, professionalism, enthusiasm and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities
  • Manage Packaging Maintenance Dept. as a whole, including budget and internal collaboration to optimize packaging equipment and materials.
  • Ensure personnel are properly trained in packaging processes, equipment and safety procedures.
  • Assist Plant Engineer with planning and implementation of packaging related capital and expense projects.
  • Ensure proper maintenance planning and implement a plan to maximize plant assets.
  • Responsible for the development of preventative maintenance programs and best practices.
  • Support, audit and enforce SQF and quality policies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in engineering field (EE, ME, CE) or equivalent with relevant work experience.
  • 8+ years experience with food processing packaging systems, including electronic control systems (PLCs).
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
  • Proven leadership experience with ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair machine components.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Computer skills including MS Word, Outlook, Excel.
