Aboutthe Role
Acentech seeks a consultant in our Architectural Acoustics Group at the Cambridge, MA headquarters. This in‑office role offers flexible hours and occasional work‑from‑home. It is suited to entry‑level candidates and those with up to several years of consulting experience.
Responsibilities- Provide consulting services for clients, supporting Principal and Senior Consultants who serve as project managers and sometimes independently.
- Conduct measurements of sound levels, noise reduction, reverberation, impulse responses, and other acoustic aspects.
- Analyze architectural designs and develop recommendations.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to colleagues and clients.
- Master’s degree in acoustics or a related field preferred, but a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience will be considered.
- Read and interpret building drawings and specifications.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal.
- Experience with acoustical modeling software, noise modeling software, AutoCAD or Revit, and standard word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Passion for buildings, sound, and music.
