Job Summary

The Associate Director Program Management (PM) will be assigned as a Program Manager and work under the matrix leadership of a Program Management Lead (GPT PM) and/or as a Program Management Lead accountable for one or more GPTs and associates sub-teams of moderate complexity in the early/late development space. The Project Manager may also serve as part of a PM team supporting work streams of a large, highly complex late stage GPTs with oversight of a Senior PM.

As a Program Manager, this team member is assigned at the asset and/or indication level to deliver integrated cross-functional planning, oversee execution and administrate the PM sub-team(s). If assigned as Program Management Lead, they will also operate as a strategic partner to the Global Program Lead (GPL), to shape and deliver the Target Product Profile (TPP) and Integrated Development Strategy (IDP) for the assigned asset(s) and associated product indications.

Responsible for the rigorous execution of the IDP individually or in partnership with assigned Program Management team members.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Program Manager Assignment
  • Maintain project plans in the ePlan enterprise tool for each assigned project. Management of ePlan projects includes and is not limited to:

    Maintaining the latest development strategy

    Ensuring all metadata is accurate and up to date.

    Generating project level scenario plans.

    Managing resource forecast drivers.

    Creation of high-level timelines via approved tools and standards.

    Maintaining ePlan data quality at or above defined standards.

    Maintain a separate detailed project plan and timelines in Microsoft Project or Planner (system selection and standards pending) for the current stage of development or upcoming stage of development. Ensuring clear visibility and management of the networked critical path. Timing from this plan should inform updates to ePlan.

    Manages the PM sub-team and participates as an extended GPT sub-team member to ensure strategic alignment and rigorous execution per governance approved timing and budget.

    Leads (or partners with a more senior PM) to help deliver end-to-end risk management processes. Develops and monitors risk management plans for high probability high impact risks.

    Supports the Program Management Lead in preparation for governance including generation of development timelines, alternative scenarios, budget and resource requirements.

    Oversee the budget and resource health for each assigned project and escalate any issues / concerns to the Program Management Lead.

Program Management Lead Assignment
  • Program Management SME delivering as a key partner to the GPL. Serves as a strategic thought partner to the GPL / GPT and core to establish a high performing team environment.

  • Responsible for the execution of IDP per asset indication, this includes strong partnership with each sub-team and their leadership to ensure alignment to the TPP/IDP and clear understanding of what they are accountable to deliver.

  • Facilitates team goal setting and tracking to ensure adherence to plan and strategy and in preparation for end of year team evaluation process.

  • Leads matrixed PM team members (if assigned) to create and maintain integrated cross-functional timelines for each asset indication within approved systems. Timelines should include scenario plans that actively manage risk, evaluate alternative development strategies as well as acceleration opportunities (or cost savings).

  • Leads risk management activities at the GPT and ensures risk management activities at the sub-teams and below are performed with timely escalation for high probability x high impact risks. Responsible for delivering the risk management plan, including risk management strategies.

  • Responsible to monitor high level direct budget and resource health for assigned asset(s) and indications. Maintains visibility and advocates for the resources required to deliver the IDP per governance approval.
