Position:
Lead Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist
Salary: $175,000-$225,000+Bonus+stock options
Why the Lead Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist opportunity?
As the first dedicated procurement and supply chain leader, you will establish the foundation that ensures material readiness, cost efficiency, and reliable supplier performance for complex hardware products.
This role functions as a strategic partner to engineering and operations while remaining hands‑on in day‑to‑day sourcing, supplier management, and planning.
The Lead Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Build sourcing strategies, evaluate vendors, lead negotiations, and manage supplier relationships.
- Develop cost models and support margin and cost‑down initiatives.
- Implement forecasting, materials planning, and inventory practices that support prototypes through scaled production.
- Ensure materials are available for builds and production schedules remain on track.
- Establish frameworks that address long‑lead items, supply continuity, and vendor risk.
- Introduce scalable processes, procurement workflows, and ERP/MRP utilization.
- Collaborate with engineering on manufacturability, BOM health, and component strategy.
- Coordinate logistics, international shipments, and operational execution.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain within hardware, advanced manufacturing, or similar complex product environments.
- Experience building or scaling supply chain capabilities in early‑stage or high‑growth settings.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing global vendors.
- Proficiency in cost modeling, BOM analysis, and structured procurement processes.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and hands‑on operational execution.
- Exposure to cost‑reduction programs, dual‑sourcing, or value analysis/value engineering.
- Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
