Job DutiesParticipate in Agile development teams to support database-related tasks during refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
Design and implement scalable Salesforce solutions that align with database best practices, organizational standards and strategic business objectives.
Manage and execute configuration changes across the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Analyze Salesforce database performance and security metrics to identify areas for improvement and recommend best practices for optimization.
Monitor and evaluate Salesforce platform updates to ensure continued database integrity, security and performance.
Configure and maintain user access controls, including permission sets, profiles, role hierarchies and field‑level security, to enforce data governance policies.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and ensure continuity of business operations.
Provide onboarding and technical mentorship to junior team members and interns, focusing on Salesforce database standards and practices.
Lead peer review sessions to promote adherence to industry and organizational best practices in Salesforce design, testing and documentation.
Develop and maintain documentation for Salesforce database standards, procedures and workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency across the team.
Telecommuting permitted up to 40% from within commutable distance of Cambridge, MA office.
Job RequirementsEmployer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science or related field (or foreign equivalent) and two years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Business Analyst‑related occupation.
Position requires 24 months of experience in each of the following:
- Designing and configuring scalable Salesforce database solutions, including custom objects, fields and automation tools such as Flow Builder and Process Builder.
- Experience in Agile methodologies including refinement, sprint planning, stand‑ups and retrospectives which support database‑related tasks and ensure alignment with development goals.
- Proficient in implementing testing strategies across the SDLC to maintain data integrity and support continuous deployment practices.
- Analyzing complex business requirements, identifying root causes of data issues and recommending optimized Salesforce solutions.
- Demonstrated experience managing database changes through the full Software Development Life Cycle, including automated deployments and version control.
- Experience as a Release Manager, coordinating build and deployment activities of the team in a complex, multi‑team development pipeline.
- Hands‑on experience with Salesforce APIs, Apex (including Triggers, Classes, Batch Apex and Callouts), SOQL and platform events to support robust Salesforce functionality.
- Navigating complex relational databases and data warehouses, with a focus on enforcing data governance through permission sets, profiles and role hierarchies.
- Salesforce Administrator Certification.
