Systems Engineer, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing
Build the platform that Rivvi runs on. AWS infrastructure, Terraform, CI/CD, and the security posture required for healthcare at scale.
What you'll do- Design and build AWS infrastructure — the production foundation for a healthcare AI platform processing millions of interactions
- Own Infrastructure as Code — Terraform modules for compute, networking, databases, and security controls
- Build CI/CD pipelines — automated, confident deployments across a monorepo with multiple applications
- Architect HIPAA‑compliant infrastructure — encryption, audit logging, access controls, and security monitoring from day one
- Own reliability — observability, alerting, incident response, and disaster recovery that matches healthcare’s requirements
- Create developer tooling — make the engineering team 2x more productive
- 5+ years Dev Ops/Infrastructure/Platform engineering (or 3+ years with MS in CS)
- Deep AWS expertise — VPC networking, Lambda, ECS, RDS, Dynamo
DB, IAM policies, and security controls - Security‑first mindset — encryption at rest and in transit, secrets management, least‑privilege access patterns
- Comfort with AI tooling — you use Cursor, Copilot, or Claude daily to move faster
- Healthcare or regulated industry experience (HIPAA, SOC 2, HITRUST)
- Serverless Event‑Driven architecture at scale
- Cost optimization and Fin Ops practices
- Type Script/Node.js proficiency (to understand application code)
Rivvi handles sensitive healthcare data for every patient we reach. Infrastructure isn’t a support function — it’s the foundation that makes everything else possible. The systems you build determine whether we can scale reliably, stay compliant, and ship with confidence. We’re at an inflection point with demand we can’t keep up with. The infrastructure decisions you make now will shape what’s possible as we 10x.
Whatyou’ll own
The AWS platform. Production infrastructure for a healthcare AI company. VPCs, compute, databases, networking, security controls — designed for reliability and compliance from the start.
Infrastructure as Code. Terraform modules that make environments reproducible, auditable, and safe. When we need a new environment, it should be boring. When we need to demonstrate compliance, it should be trivial.
CI/CD pipelines. Deployments that are fast, safe, and observable. Engineers should ship without fear. Rollbacks should be instant. Every change should be traceable.
Security and compliance. HIPAA isn’t a checkbox — it’s an architecture pattern. You’ll build the controls, monitoring, and audit capabilities that let us operate in healthcare.
Developer experience. The engineering team’s productivity depends on the tools and primitives you create. Local development that mirrors production. Clear documentation. Fast feedback loops.
What we're buildingRivvi is conversational AI infrastructure for healthcare. We process millions of patient interactions through AI systems that need to be fast, reliable, and compliant. The infrastructure challenges are real: sub‑second latency on AI workflows, encryption and audit logging at every layer, reliability requirements that match healthcare’s expectations, and the complexity of operating a platform that handles PHI at scale.
What success looks like- Deploys are routine and boring — engineers ship without thinking about infrastructure
- Systems are observable by default — you see problems before customers do
- Security and compliance are built‑in — auditors find what they need, quickly
- Infrastructure scales ahead of demand — you’re never the bottleneck
You’ll work directly with the founders in Boston and own infrastructure decisions from day one. No approval layers. No months‑long planning cycles. Build systems that work, iterate when they don’t.
