Classified Systems Administrator (Linux)
Clearance Required: Active Secret Clearance
Location: Cambridge, MA
Employment Type: Full-Time
We are seeking a Classified Systems Administrator with a strong Linux background to support, manage, and deploy mission‑critical applications within a classified environment. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience administering Linux operating systems and supporting engineering, collaboration, and configuration management tools in secure, compliance‑driven environments.
Key Responsibilities- Administer, maintain, and support classified Linux‑based systems in accordance with DoD and organizational security requirements
- Install, configure, deploy, and manage enterprise applications, including:
- IBM DOORS
- Git Lab
- Team Work Cloud
- Windchill
- Confluence
- Jira
- Creo
- Support system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and security compliance (STIGs, RMF, audit readiness)
- Coordinate with cybersecurity, engineering, and system owner teams to ensure systems are operating securely and efficiently
- Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and operational procedures
- Support backup, recovery, and continuity of operations efforts
- Provide technical support and issue resolution in a classified setting
- Participate in system upgrades, migrations, and new deployments as required
- Active Secret Clearance (required at time of hire)
- Strong experience administering Linux systems in classified or secure environments
- Demonstrated experience managing and deploying enterprise applications such as:
- IBM DOORS
- Git Lab
- Team Work Cloud
- Windchill
- Confluence
- Jira
- Creo
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7, 8, and 9
- Ubuntu
- Oracle Linux
- Familiarity with system security best practices and compliance requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Experience supporting engineering or PLM environments
- Familiarity with Dev Sec Ops or CI/CD pipelines in classified environments
- Knowledge of DoD security frameworks (RMF, NIST 800‑53, DISA STIGs)
- Scripting experience (Bash, Python, or similar)
- On‑site support in a classified facility
- Work performed in accordance with security and access control requirements
