Project Manager I – Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard
The Broad IT Services (BITS) group is looking for an experienced IT Project Manager to join our Project Management Office (PMO). The IT Project Manager leads, plans, coordinates, and implements department projects according to specifications, deadlines, and budgets, ensuring operational execution of all assigned projects.
This is a hybrid role.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Facilitate project meetings to align the team around goals and communicate blocking issues.
- Manage assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
- Develop, maintain, and revise proposals for assigned projects, including objectives, technologies, systems, timelines, and staffing.
- Set and track project milestones; manage unforeseen delays and realign schedules as needed.
- Establish and implement project communication plans, providing status updates to stakeholders.
- Organize and manage all phases of the project to ensure on‑time completion.
- Assemble and coordinate project team members, assigning responsibilities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of related experience managing IT projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of Project Management processes, strategies, and methods.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and ability to establish guidelines for others.
- Strong personal accountability in decision‑making and supervision of teams.
- Experience working in a high‑level collaborative environment and promoting teamwork.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Proactive in predicting challenges and mitigating obstacles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Information Science, or related field.
- PMP certification.
- Training in science, engineering, or business fields.
- Knowledge of Smartsheet, Jira, and Confluence.
Work is performed in an office environment, requiring standard office equipment and keyboards. The role is sedentary with repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers. Close visual acuity required for data analysis and computer work.
