The Director, Enterprise Architect is responsible for directly overseeing and organizing Pfizer initiatives for the PGS domain. As an individual contributor, your primary impact is through your direct work. You are a widely recognized expert in your technical domain, able to articulate clearly to a deep technical level, and you are comfortable understanding the business direction with input from business leadership.

This role reports to the Sr. Director Enterprise Architecture for the PGS domain.

• Creation of detailed Solution Sketches, City Plans, and Solution Architecture Diagrams.
• Lead complex projects within business units, providing technical and strategic context.
• Advise Senior leadership on technical and business constraints, telling the narrative of how these interact.
• Serve as the trusted voice for the enterprise regarding technical architecture.
• Contribute to business fit and focus of key initiatives.
• Collaborate with peers to identify reusable reference patterns, accelerate delivery, and reduce technical debt.

• Dedicated to meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; gather first‑hand customer information for product and service improvements.
• Direct and propose Enterprise Architecture fit for new and existing technical components.
• Understand customers’ operational needs and help drive strategic direction.
• Anticipate internal/external business and regulatory/compliance issues impacting system design.

• Use innovative business thinking to challenge status quo and drive identification, quantification, and proposals of business solutions.
• Lead proactive initiatives to drive Enterprise Architecture Strategy directly or on direction of EA Leadership.

• Understand business drivers and capabilities; determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to achieve targeted outcomes.
• Accountable for solution implementation approach and oversight of such solutions.
• Influence management and senior staff decisions via focused innovation engineering exercises and proof‑based experimentation.
• Knowledgeable about regulatory constraints of cloud solutions in healthcare, with input from others.
• Understand modern cloud architecture best practices; well‑versed in Amazon Web Services–based architecture.

• Develop deep understanding of the PGS business process and identify opportunities to streamline and increase productivity using digital tools.
• Build constructive partnerships between business and technical stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Write clearly and succinctly across various communication settings and styles, at all levels.
• Ensure effective, accurate, timely communication across portfolio; deliver regular project status updates in written and presentation format to sponsors, leaders, and stakeholders.

• Create an environment where innovation is standard, taking appropriate risks to advance processes.

• Highly skilled in formal presentation settings; manage group process during presentations.
• Utilize negotiation, facilitation, meeting management, conflict resolution skills to enhance cross‑functional team performance.
• Arbitrate disagreements among stakeholders and make business decisions/proposals when needed.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor proposals to augment internal expertise in service delivery.

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud solutions (Amazon, Google, Microsoft Azure).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence without authority.
• Demonstrated experience consolidating applications to common reusable architecture patterns to enforce standards.
• Experience with traditional AI/ML designs and guiding generative AI designs.
• Execution mindset focused on getting things done quickly and simply.
• Hands‑on experience with one or more Pfizer core platforms (SAP, Kinaxis, AMPS).
