Job Description SummaryThe Sr. Human Resources Assistant works within a dynamic HR team to support day‑to‑day operations, ensuring smooth transitions for new hires, maintaining accurate employment records and acting as a trusted partner to provide guidance and support. The role serves as the primary liaison with recruiting, hiring managers, employees and external applicants.
Duties / Responsibilities- Trusted partner with recruiters and business line managers to schedule interviews for prospective candidates.
- Accurately track all candidate and new hire activity within the HCM system (Workday).
- Serve as the primary liaison between external applicants and Draper for all interviews, as well as pre‑ and post‑employment paperwork.
- Initiate, confirm and review background investigation paperwork working directly with our background screening company.
- Create and meticulously maintain applicant records and employee files.
- Assist in coordination of employee onboarding and orientation activities including completion of new hire employment paperwork.
- Process all pre‑employment background and employment eligibility checks by utilizing an external vendor and the USCIS's E‑Verify tool.
- Support departmental leaders in assuring business and employee needs are met efficiently and effectively.
- Provide support to the HR and Recruiting Teams in administering revised processes on an ongoing basis.
- Handle all day‑to‑day HR inquiries with sensitivity and confidentiality.
- Provide additional support to HR team and work on ad hoc assignments as needed.
- Strong interaction and familiarity with HR and Applicant Tracking Systems such as Workday.
- Experience processing data, strong data entry skills required.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities while still effectively achieving set objectives and remaining flexible.
- Collaborative working style.
Associate Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
Experience3-5 years of experience supporting HR/Recruiting operations including processing new hires and onboarding new employees.
