Position: Associate Director, Market Access/ Payer Insights

Overview

Associate Director, Nephrology Payer Insights (US Market Access)

A leading biopharma organization is building a new Nephrology payer insights capability to support a high‑potential pipeline and upcoming launches. This role will sit within the US Market Access organization and lead payer analytics, research, and actionable insights to shape evidence, value, pricing/contracting thinking, and launch readiness across Nephrology.

Why this role matters

You'll join early-well ahead of launch- so the work is strategic and foundational
, not "firefighting."

You'll help define what the organization needs to learn about the payer and access landscape, build the data/insights plan, and guide stakeholders with clear recommendations.

What you'll do
  • Own the payer insights agenda for Nephrology: evaluate market landscape, payer segments, and access dynamics to support business decisions.
  • Design and execute payer research (quantitative and qualitative) to uncover unmet needs, payer attitudes toward value, and key access barriers-including how coverage evolves over the patient journey (e.g., commercial to Medicare).
  • Build and maintain standard reporting for national and local insights (e.g., access by channel, segmentation mix, projected plan performance) and develop a shared data asset with partner teams.
  • Inform pricing and contracting strategy by translating insights into clear options and implications for stakeholders.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with commercial insights/analytics, brand, field, finance, and global colleagues to align on learning plans and lifecycle management as the program evolves.
  • Bring "buy‑and‑bill" and provider economics thinking into insights work, recognizing how site‑of‑care and physician incentives influence uptake and access.
What success looks like

Within the first 6-12 months, you've built a clear insights roadmap, established durable reporting and data foundations, and become the go‑to partner for payer/access questions-helping the team shape launch trajectory early.

What we're looking for (Must‑haves)
  • US Market Access experience (payer landscape, coverage policy, access strategy).
  • Buy‑and‑bill experience and comfort navigating provider economics and reimbursement realities.
  • Launch experience (pre‑launch/launch planning preferred over only in‑line brands).
  • Strong analytics and insights capability
-hands‑on enough to guide analyses (you don't need to be a SQL engineer, but you know what "good" looks like and how to steer it).
  • Ability to translate complex insights into clear stories and recommendations
, anticipate stakeholder questions, and work proactively.
  • Nephrology (not required).
  • Background in management consulting with relevant Market Access exposure.
