Job DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented HPLC Associate – Team Lead to support and guide our analytical team. In this role, you will perform advanced chromatographic analyses to characterize early‑stage biotherapeutics—including proteins, antibodies, peptides, and conjugates—while providing day‑to‑day leadership within the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities- Chromatography & Analytical Testing:
Perform routine and advanced HPLC analyses, including SEC, HIC, RP‑HPLC, and IEX. - Support the characterization of a wide range of biologics and complex molecules.
- Maintain accurate, detailed documentation in ELNs.
- Review data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with scientists and project teams to ensure timely, high‑quality results.
- Serve as a day‑to‑day team lead, supporting and monitoring the performance of laboratory staff.
- Assist in interviewing and evaluating potential new team members as needed.
- Support onboarding, training, and skill development of new employees.
- Communicate administrative and operational updates across the team.
- Promote the company’s vision, culture, and commitment to quality.
- Ensure laboratory activities meet the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and compliance.
- Coordinate workload distribution, shift coverage, and daily task assignments.
- Contribute to performance discussions, development plans, and morale‑building efforts.
- Balance hands‑on technical responsibilities with leadership expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 2+ years of hands‑on laboratory experience in an industry setting utilizing chromatography (SEC, HIC, RP‑HPLC, IEX, etc.) and/or capillary electrophoresis techniques.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to data integrity and high‑quality documentation.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Meticulous, organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
- Previous experience in a laboratory supervisor or team lead role.
The position is full-time, first shift, Monday through Friday, 8am‑5pm. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Cambridge, MA, are encouraged to apply.
