Job Title: Analytical Laboratory Chemist
Location: Madison Heights, MI
Hours/

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
Pay Range
: $25 - $27/hr
Type: Contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent

Overview

This role supports analytical laboratory operations through hands-on wet chemistry testing, instrumentation use, and method upkeep. The position contributes to project teams by generating accurate data, maintaining equipment, and producing clear technical reports. Work is performed in a fast-paced laboratory environment with a strong focus on quality and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and perform routine maintenance on analytical laboratory equipment

  • Maintain and follow established analytical methods and procedures

  • Execute wet chemistry analyses, including titrations, filtration, dilution, extraction, and gravimetric determinations

  • Support major project teams by delivering timely and accurate analytical results

  • Prepare customer-facing technical reports and maintain project documentation

  • Interface with customers through written correspondence and presentations

  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards for safety, quality, and housekeeping

  • Maintain digital laboratory systems, including Microsoft applications, LIMS, and statistical analysis tools

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry

  • Prior laboratory experience

  • Proficiency in wet chemistry techniques (titrations, filtration, dilution, extraction, gravimetric analysis)

  • Experience using pH meters and specific ion electrode meters

  • Strong chemical mathematics skills

  • Proficiency with PC-based applications

Preferred

  • Experience in an analytical laboratory environment

  • Hands-on experience with GC-FID

  • Exposure to or working knowledge of ICP, IC, SEM/EDS, and FTIR
