Patient Care Associate Needham 3

Job Description
  • Assists with activities of daily living such as hygiene, nutrition, elimination, mobility, comfort, and safety.
  • Monitors and documents vital signs, patient weights, intake/output, and other data.
  • Completes patient treatments as directed, and assists healthcare professionals with more complex treatments.
  • Performs phlebotomy and EKGs, applies Holter monitors, and performs glucometry. Collects and labels specimens.
  • Answers patient call lights and ensures resolution of patient issues.
  • Transports discharged patients.
  • Participates in patient care rounds.
  • Provides one-to-one observation of patients as needed.
  • Participates in conferences and educational programs as appropriate.
  • Maintain BCLS certification and attend annual Safety Education Fair.
  • Maintain unit competencies.
Job Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience in basic nursing skills preferred.
  • Able to acquire through educational programs and on the job training, technical knowledge related to the position.
  • Good oral communication skills to ensure the accurate transfer of information, and strong interpersonal skills to facilitate courteous interaction with patients, visitors, and other hospital staff members.
