VP Finance​/Controller - VC Backed Start up

Position: VP Finance/Controller

Salary: $250,000-$350,000+bonus+options

• The Company: A VC backed startup engineering next‑generation AI solutions.
• The Objective:
  As the company’s first senior finance leader, the VP of Finance will build and scale the full accounting and finance infrastructure from the ground up to support the company’s rapid growth
• The Exposure:
  The VP of Finance will be expected to provide business and operational analysis, strategic insight, and tactical financial support to be an effective business partner and trusted advisor to the Founders.

• Establish and own all aspects of the day‑to‑day financial management of the company including the preparation of the monthly financial package; management of GL accounts, annual audit and submission of government and related tax returns; and financial planning. Provide financial and operational metrics and analytics to executive management.
• Develop and implement business process improvement initiatives and strategies.
• Increase the company’s ability to anticipate business issues and drive good decision‑making through sound financial management.
• Further develop guidelines and processes corresponding to the rapid growth of the company.
• Continually review accounting policies and procedures to ensure that the company is compliant with GAAP and statutory accounting.
• Implement reliable forecasting tools (P&L, cash flow and balance sheet).

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; advanced credentials such as a CPA, MBA, or Master’s in Finance strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience, including at least 2 years in a finance or accounting leadership role.
• Demonstrated, hands‑on expertise in finance and accounting within a high‑growth startup or corporate spin‑out environment.
• Proven track record building the core accounting and finance infrastructure, including implementing scalable systems, processes, and internal controls.
• Experience with in Tech, Manufacturing, or Hardware organizations, ideally those with significant R&D operations.
• Strong financial planning capabilities, including ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and dynamic financial modeling in fast‑changing environments.
• History of driving process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives in rapidly scaling companies.
• Ability to design, implement, and manage key financial and operational metrics/KPIs across the organization.
