SENIOR RESEARCH ADMINISTRATOR - POST AWARD, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab will perform comprehensive pre- (10%) and post-award (90%) financial research management of the Laboratory’s sponsored activities; advise principal investigators and project leaders on all aspects of research administration and implements their subsequent decisions; manage a complex portfolio of post-award finances and resolve complex financial issues and execute monthly forecasts;
monitor the daily financial performance of grants and contracts to ensure compliance with sponsor policies and meet regularly with PIs to review resource plans and budgets.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of experience in accounting or finance with decision‑making responsibility or in a non‑profit research administrative function.
- Experience with federal contract terms and conditions, administrative rules, cost principles and regulations under OMB guidelines, and experience working in both pre‑ and post‑award research administration.
- Knowledge of budgeting theory and practices including reporting requirements and procedures related to federal, state and other related grants.
- Knowledge of grants, contracts, and applications; budget preparation and administration; financial record keeping and reporting.
- Proficiency in analysis, interpretation and evaluation of contractual terminology (pre‑ and post‑award).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and internet research tools.
- Knowledge of enterprise financial systems, grants management tools and multidimensional databases.
