Undergraduate Co-op – Drug Substance Technologies Synthetics - Massachusetts (July – December 2026)What You Will DoLet’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program, you will utilize synthetic organic chemistry to deliver robust processes and technologies for the manufacture of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) from early- to late-stage development, and serve our R&D, Clinical and Commercial partners. The Drug Substance Technologies Synthetics organization is principally concerned with translating developmental processes into commercial manufacturing reality through scientificexpertise, innovative engineering, and deployment of manufacturing technologies.
The department at our Cambridge, Massachusetts location is looking for an Undergraduate student interested in a 6-month Co-op placement. The Co-op will learn the principles of process scale-up of small-molecule intermediates, hybrid modalities, and active pharmaceutical ingredients using synthetic organic chemistry. The Co-op will have an opportunity to interact with scientists and engineers implementing advanced manufacturing technologies for multiple product modalities.
Relocation in the form of a transportation allowance will be provided for eligible candidates.

Basic Qualifications:
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergrad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
- 18 years or older
- Currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
- Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
- Enrolled in a full-time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
- Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
- Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship OR co-op
- Degree concentration(s) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biological Sciences, and/or Data Sciences, with a focus or interest in organic synthesis.
- Strong interpersonal, project management, analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, project management, problem solving, analytical and quantitative skills
- Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability, and resourcefulness.

The base pay range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $24.70 - $28.30 per hour.
