Plumbing Engineer (Junior & Senior) – MEP Healthcare, Laboratory, Transportation & Higher Education Projects
Seeking a Plumbing Engineer to support the design, coordination, and execution of plumbing and fire protection systems across a variety of building projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, hands-on design experience, Revit MEP experience, and direct construction exposure. Senior Engineers will lead design quality, code compliance, and mentor junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review construction documents, including design drawings, layouts, schedules, details, and specifications for plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Perform and review hydraulic, thermal, and water flow calculations, fixture counts, and coordination studies.
- Conduct site surveys and evaluate conditions against design intent and code requirements.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and product data for technical accuracy.
- Coordinate plumbing systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to optimize building systems integration.
- Support construction administration, including site visits, installation verification, and commissioning.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance (Senior level).
- Assist Project Managers with scope development, schedules, and workload planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Plumbing, Mechanical, or related field).
- 2–10+ years of plumbing/MEP engineering experience (Junior: 2–5 yrs; Senior: 7–10+ yrs), including hands-on design experience.
- Experience preparing construction documents, performing plumbing calculations, and coordinating systems with other trades.
- Direct construction experience: site visits, installation verification, commissioning support.
- Revit MEP required;
AutoCAD Electrical a plus. - Knowledge of plumbing codes, NFPA, and best practices.
- PE license preferred for Senior, or ability to obtain.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
