We seek a passionate, experienced, and creative Lab Automation Scientist or Engineer to drive implementation of automated and robotic solutions across our drug discovery platform. The candidate will become an integral member of a multidisciplinary team advancing Client RNAi therapeutic programs from target discovery through drug candidate lead selection. The primary objectives of the team are to develop highly scalable screening platforms and protocols to continually increase both throughput and decision-enabling content.
The successful candidate will implement high-throughput workflows incorporating liquid- and plate-handling robotics in support of diverse application areas, including in vitro screening, ex-vivo sample processing, and high-throughput RNA-seq, including transcriptional profiling, spatial and single-cell applications.
- Optimize, troubleshoot, and stabilize ex vivo sample-processing methods on the High Res platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional scientists to streamline ex vivo sample-processing workflows.
- Onboard and develop automated methods on the new PE JANUS and Beckman liquid-handling systems.
- Lead the transition of two manual workflows to robotic liquid-handling platforms.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting for the integrated High Res system and associated processes.
- Serve as a liaison between external vendors and cross-functional site stakeholders.
- Train users and provide ongoing support for existing robotic platforms.
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Bioengineering, Engineering, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
- 5+ years of hands-on experience operating and programming robotics platforms
- Ability to understand diverse and complex workflows on liquid- and plate-handling systems, including the sources and statistical assessment of unwarranted assay variance
- Experience with liquid handlers and integrated platforms such as Perkin Elmer, High Res Cellario, Tecan, Hamilton, and Beckman Coulter
