Join our team at the Draper Microfabrication Facility in Cambridge, MA as a Metrology Process Engineer! In this role, you will be working in a team responsible for the development, execution, control, and continuous improvement of metrology processes critical to the production of novel, advanced MEMS. Our key capabilities include Brightfield/Darkfield/IR Microscopy (manual and automated), AFM, SEM, Surface Analysis, Laser-Doppler Vibrometry, Ellipsometry, Profilometry (stylus and confocal laser), Stress Test, XRF, FTIR, and 4pt probe (manual and automated).

• Experience with microfabrication process development.

Highly desired

• Experience with Yield Analysis.
• Experience with Defect Metrology.
• Experience with troubleshooting, maintenance and/or qualification of 3+ of the above capabilities.
• Experience with Statistical Process Control and MES systems.
• Experience with Gauge R&R.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma.

• Designs and develops Microelectromechanical devices/sensors, schematics and physical layouts of integrated MEMS components or packaged assemblies.
• Assesses performance and process capabilities of potential MEMS device designs using modeling or simulation software.
• Tests and evaluates devices using a variety of tools, protocols, and software.
• Analyzes and addresses issues such as reliability, yield improvement, and/or failure.
• Develops production methods and fabrication processes for MEMS.
• Drafts documentation such as operating instructions, performance specifications, and manuals.
• Shares performance experience and operating characteristics with designers or other engineers for new product development purposes and/or training.
• Develop and maintain effective internal/external relationship.
• Help define the approach to solve a particular problem and independently execute assignments.
• Contribute high quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance.
• Proactively identify needs and concerns associated with design and manufacturing decisions and communicate them to project leadership.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Proficient with the fabrication and metrology tools and instrumentation related to MEMS component fabrication.

• Proficient with software tools and systems used for statistical process control, and reliability and failure analysis, including yield improvement.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics required. Master's degree preferred.

3-5 years of Microsystems Engineering or related experience.
