Summary:

** Join our team at the Draper Microfabrication Facility in Cambridge, MA as a Metrology Process Engineer! In this role, you will be working in a team responsible for the development, execution, control, and continuous improvement of metrology processes critical to the production of novel, advanced MEMS. Our key capabilities include Brightfield/Darkfield/IR Microscopy (manual and automated), AFM, SEM, Surface Analysis, Laser-Doppler Vibrometry, Ellipsometry, Profilometry (stylus and confocal laser), Stress Test, XRF, FTIR, and 4pt probe (manual and automated).
What we Need:  
● Experience with 3+ of the above capabilities in a microfabrication environment.  
● Experience in an industrial wafer fab.  
● Experience with microfabrication process development.  
● A learning, problem-solving mindset.  
● Excellence with team-based communication and coordination.
Highly desired:  
● Experience with Yield Analysis  
● Experience with Defect Metrology.  
● Experience with troubleshooting, maintenance and/or qualification of 3+ of the above capabilities.  
● Experience with Statistical Process Control and MES systems.  
● Experience with Gauge R&R.  
● Experience with Lean Six Sigma.

**** Duties/Responsibilities*
* • Designs and develops Microelectromechanical devices/sensors, schematics and physical layouts of integrated MEMS components or packaged assemblies.  
• Assesses performance and process capabilities of potential MEMS device designs using modeling or simulation software.  
• Tests and evaluates devices using a variety of tools, protocols, and software.  
• Analyzes and addresses issues such as reliability, yield improvement, and/or failure.

• Develops production methods and fabrication processes for MEMS.  
• Drafts documentation such as operating instructions, performance specifications, and manuals.  
• Shares performance experience and operating characteristics with designers or other engineers for new product development purposes and/or training.  
• Develop and maintain effective internal/external relationship.  
• Help define the approach to solve a particular problem and independently execute assignments  
• Contribute high quality content for technical reports and presentations with minimal guidance.  
• Proactively identify needs and concerns associated with design and manufacturing decisions and communicate them to project leadership.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
