Job Description

Job Summary

The Research Coordinator will play a central role in supporting federally funded research studies conducted in close partnership with local schools as well as schools across the U.S.

Job‑Specific Responsibilities

This position coordinates day-to-day study activities with school personnel to support BRIDGES Lab research on language and reading interventions for school‑age students. The Research Coordinator helps manage school‑based projects focused on a language and reading comprehension intervention for students with reading challenges in the elementary grades. Working closely with the Principal Investigator, Dr. Phil Capin, the Research Coordinator serves as a primary liaison between the research team and participating schools.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules and logistics, supporting teachers and school staff during implementation, assisting with training and materials, monitoring intervention implementation, and responding to questions or needs that arise in school settings.

The Research Coordinator also collaborates with the research team on developing instructional and assessment materials, supporting data collection in schools, and contributing to project documentation and dissemination activities.

Ideal candidates have knowledge of language and literacy development and evidence‑based instructional practices, along with experience working in school or community‑based settings. A strong commitment to building positive relationships and working effectively with educators, students, families, and research staff from diverse backgrounds is essential.

  • Preparing and tracking materials 10%
  • Researches literature to inform research questions 10%

Qualifications Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.

  • This role is hybrid and on campus at a minimum of 2 days per week.

This is a one‑year term position with the possibility of renewal based on need and funding.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor’s degree preferred. Ideal candidates have knowledge of language and literacy development and evidence‑based instructional practices, along with experience working in school or community‑based settings. A strong commitment to building positive relationships and working effectively with educators, students, families, and research staff from diverse backgrounds is essential.

Experience working in schools, either as an educator or engaged in research.

Experience with standardized assessments and surveys.

Experience working with bilingual children and/or children with or at risk for learning disabilities.

Fluent in Spanish.

Experience in academic research and/or school settings.

    35 hours per week
  • Compensation Range/Rate (including Shift Differential if applicable): $62k – $64k commensurate with experience
