Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A part-time position is available for a Reading Specialist in Belmont, MA, dedicated to supporting students in grades 7 through 12. This role focuses on providing targeted reading interventions to students who are currently reading at a 3rd to 5th-grade level, helping to bridge gaps and enhance their literacy skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized reading instruction tailored to individual student needs.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans based on assessments and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists to support student learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings as required.

Qualifications:

  • Reading Specialist endorsement or equivalent certification is required.
  • Experience working with students reading below grade level preferred.
  • Ability to engage and motivate learners across a broad age range (grades 7-12).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
