Faculty Position:
Computational Immunologist
The Ragon Institute of Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard in Cambridge MA, together with the Department of Immunology at Harvard Medical School, seek a tenure-track faculty member at the level of Assistant Professor, commensurate with experience, training, and scientific achievements. This is a rolling search; the position is to start on a mutually agreed upon date, and the candidate will be fully employed by the Ragon Institute.
The candidate will have a primary appointment in the HMS Department of Immunology.
The Ragon Institute is located in Kendall Square with state‑of‑the‑art facilities. The Institute was established in February 2009 as a joint venture among MGH, MIT, and Harvard. The HMS Department of Immunology is a leader in basic and translational immunology.
Responsibilities and expectationsCandidates should have research interests focused in computational immunology / AI / machine learning within the field of immunology. HMS faculty duties include teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, research, and supervision of student research. The successful candidate will build and maintain an internationally recognized, extramurally funded research program with support from Institute funds. The candidate should collaborate with other scientists and mentor doctoral students at HMS.
QualificationsApplicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. or equivalent in Biology or related fields (Biochemistry, Microbiology, etc.), Computer Science, or Engineering (Biological, Mechanical, Chemical, etc.) by start of employment, and have a track record of achievement in basic or translational research and the potential to develop an independent program.
Compensation and supportThe successful candidate will receive a generous start-up package, access to research facilities including advanced flow cytometry, microscopy, BSL-3 facilities, and a clinical specimen repository.
