Position: Director-Open a New School with Babilou Family US!

Overview

Babilou Family US is launching a new early childhood education school in Cambridge, MA, Fall 2026. The school will be located in Harvard’s Enterprise Research Center (ERC), One Milestone, within a world-renowned innovation district. Designed to support children’s curiosity, development, and lifelong love of learning, the school will serve families in the ERC community.

Babilou Family US currently operates three school brands in New England:
Heartworks, Building Blocks, and Little Sprouts. Our schools are part of a global, mission-driven organization focused on supporting the emotional and cognitive development of children in their earliest years. This new Cambridge location will be our flagship.

This role is for an inspiring School Director who will lead the flagship school opening in Fall 2026. The School Director will set the school’s strategic vision, cultivate high-impact community partnerships, and oversee budget, enrollment, staffing, and team development to ensure high levels of staff and student engagement and retention. The role is responsible for cultivating a culture of excellence that advances the future of early childhood education at Babilou Family US.

Responsibilities

Lead the flagship school opening and ongoing operations in Cambridge, MA. Set strategic vision and ensure alignment with Babilou Family US mission and standards. Develop and manage budgets, enrollment, staffing, and performance metrics. Foster high-quality programming that supports children’s curiosity and development. Build and sustain partnerships with families, the ERC community, and local organizations. Promote a culture of excellence, inclusion, and continuous improvement across all school operations.

Compensation

and Schedule

Salary Ranges: $85,000 to $95,000 per year + bonus eligibility for EEC Director II. This location operates year-round, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM. Hours are subject to change.

Qualifications
  • Must pass required state and company background checks.
  • Must have Director

    EEC Certification (DII qualification).
  • 5–10 years of experience in early childhood education or classroom management.
  • Strong understanding of play-based learning and social-emotional development.
  • Commitment to kindness, respect, and community engagement.
  • High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Adhere to company policies and EEC regulations.
  • Ability to stand, move, run, and play for most of the day; ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times a day.

$85,000 - $95,000 a year. The compensation range represents Babilou Family US’s intention for this position. Actual offers may vary based on experience, education, and other business factors.
